Rural communities must be part of Nebraska's growth!

​(Nebraska News Service) -- NorthPlatteBulletin.com reports that at the Rural Futures Institute conference held late last week, Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts spoke "about the importance of rural communities in Nebraska's economic growth."  The governor spoke about the large role of agriculture in Nebraska.  He added that there was a renewed focus on Nebraska's quality of life, as well as its skilled workforce, which was needed "to create more jobs in rural communities."  The governor told the audience that manufacturing was the second largest industry in Nebraska.  "Manufacturing allows us to create jobs all across our state, not just in Lincoln and Omaha," Gov. Ricketts said, adding that trade with foreign nations will be key to growing Nebraska's economy.
